Technique for Wacky Rigging to Soft Stick Baits

‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape comes in multiple strips on a release card with purchase options of various widths and lengths. ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape is packaged between a thin clear release film on top and a more rigid colored release card underneath.

Use of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape requires removal from the clear release film and the colored release card.

- Remove ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape from the semi-rigid release card by:  folding/bending  release card parallel to ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape length, peeling edge and continuing until ‘Never Slip’ Bait tape with clear release film separate from release card. (In most cases clear release film delaminates or partially delaminates from ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape upon separation from release card).

- Continue removal of clear release film ensuring surfaces of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape does not come into self-contact.  (‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape will fuse together when in self-contact). Clear release film has static charge and may remain on finger/s. It is best to remove clear release film from finger/s by placing in pocket or inserting in re-sealable ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape packaging.  Maintain litter free procedures.

- In isolated cases when clear release film remains fully in contact with ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape after separation from release card: stretch/elongate a section of either end of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape until clear release film delaminates or partially delaminates. Continue removal of clear release film ensuring surfaces of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape does not come into self-contact.

- Position one end of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape on middle section of soft stick bait.

NOTE: (Locating ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape in the middle of the soft stick bait will create a slow fluttering fall rate through the water column.  Locating ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape closer to the end of the soft stick bait may increase fall rate through the water column.)

- Maintain adequate contact between finger/s and soft bait allowing elongation of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape to be wrapped around outer diameter of soft bait. (Soft bait must exhibit compression and reduction of soft bait diameter under ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape.)

- Angler will self-determine optimal compression of the soft stick bait with elongation of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape from 100% to 300% elongation. Optimal elongation will result in moderate reduction of soft stick soft bait diameter and strong fusing of underlying layers of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape.  Excessive elongation of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape will result in increased reduction of soft stick bait diameter and reduction of soft stick bait longevity. Use of full length of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape enhances longevity and maintenance of soft bait position.

- Continue wrapping with elongation and tension over underlying layer of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape with limited mis-matched alignment until ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape is used fully. (If mis-alignment occurs – fold underlying mis-aligned edge onto upper length continuing to wrap over mis-aligned section.)

- Tag end of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape must remain elongated and under tension with an ironing action of finger/s for  fusing end to underlying length.  After multiple casts and retrieves a short section of the tag end of the ‘Never Slip’ Bait tape may delaminate if not adequately secured with elongation and ironing action.  The short tag end may be trimmed off if desired.

- Position hook under wraps/band of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape parallel to length of soft stick bait. Ensure hook NEVER penetrates ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape.  (Penetration of ‘Never Slip’ Bait Tape will reduce longevity.)
